General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC)

Before booking a Normandie-Rando holiday, please read our terms and conditions of sale.

Normandie-Rando is a limited liability company with a share capital of €7,500, whose purpose is to organise and sell tourist holidays. Its registered office is located at 13

Avenue du Maréchal Leclerc, 14130 Pont L’Evêque. It is registered under number 481 954 246 in the Lisieux Trade Register and in the Atout France travel agents register under number IM014100017

Its intra-community VAT number is FR53481954246

Normandie-Rando is a member of the APST (Association Professionnelle de Solidarité du Tourisme), which provides its financial guarantee. Normandie-Rando has taken out professional civil liability insurance with Allianz IARD (1 Cours Michelet- CS30051 92076 PARIS LA DEFENSE CEDEX).

These general terms and conditions govern the sale by Normandie-Rando of trips or holidays within the meaning of Articles L.211-1 et seq. and R.211-1 et seq. of the French Tourism Code.

The purchase of Normandie-Rando holidays implies the customer’s full and unreserved acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale, which are deemed to have been read and accepted upon signature of the sales contracts.

REGISTRATION CONDITIONS

  1. Submit your request via our website www.normandie.rando.com by completing the booking form for the holiday you have chosen.
  2. Normandie-Rando will check the availability of the desired services on the desired dates and confirm your booking within 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays).
  3. You will receive a confirmation from the website with a quote and payment link.

PAYMENT TERMS

For bookings made more than 45 days in advance, a deposit of 30% of the total cost of the holiday is required to confirm the trip. The deposit must be paid within 15 days of the date of the confirmation message, unless a different date is mentioned in the confirmation message.

Normandie-Rando will send the final invoice 45 days or more before the start date of the trip. The balance must be paid 30 days before the start date of the trip. If the final payment is not made by the deadline, the tour will be considered cancelled. All resulting expenses will be borne by the customer, without prejudice to any action that may be taken against them. As a result, Normandie-Rando will not be obliged to keep the holiday available.

For bookings made less than 45 days before departure, the full payment must be made in one instalment.

Means of payment

You can pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Payments by bank transfer or cash are accepted within the limits authorised by law.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

  1. Any changes made by the customer after confirmation of the holiday will incur a fee of £30 per person if Normandie-Rando is able to accommodate the change. Changes to dates must be communicated at least 45 days before the start of the holiday.
  • Any cancellation will incur the following charges:
  • More than 45 days before departure: 10% of the total price of the stay
  • 45 to 30 days before departure: 30% of the total price of the stay
  • 30 to 8 days before departure: 50% of the total price of the stay
  • Less than 8 days before departure: 100% of the total price of the stay

If, before departure, Normandie-Rando is forced to make a significant change to the services included in the holiday package ordered, Normandie-Rando will notify the customer as soon as possible.

The customer may then:

  • Either terminate the contract and obtain a full refund of the sums paid;
  • Or accept the change proposed by Normandie-Rando. In this case, a new order form will be drawn up with the changes. In the event of a price reduction, the overpayment will be refunded before the date of departure.

The customer must communicate their decision (acceptance of the change or cancellation) within a maximum of 7 days of receiving the aforementioned information. If no response is received within this period, the customer will be deemed to have accepted the proposed change.

If Normandie-Rando decides to cancel the holiday before departure, Normandie-Rando will refund the customer the full amount paid. Any other expenses (airline or train tickets) are not eligible for reimbursement.

During the trip

If, after your departure, Normandie-Rando is forced to make a significant change to the services included in the tour, representing a significant percentage of the price, Normandie-Rando will make every effort to replace them with equivalent services.

If the proposed solutions are of inferior quality to the initial service, Normandie-Rando undertakes to reimburse the customer for the difference in price between the two services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Certain administrative and/or health formalities may be required for travel. It is the traveller’s responsibility to enquire about these formalities, to comply with them and, where applicable, to bear the costs.

Before registering for your trip, you must check that you are in possession of a valid passport or other document that meets the requirements for transit and/or entry into the country or countries of travel. Please note that the regulations of some countries require passports to be valid for more than 6 months after the date of return.

The consequences of the traveller’s failure to comply with administrative and health formalities, such as the inability to depart on the date indicated, are the sole responsibility of the traveller. Normandie-Rando cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible for the consequences of the traveller’s failure to comply with police, customs or health regulations.

It is the customer’s responsibility to choose a trip that corresponds to their physical abilities, skills and state of health. Normandie-Rando may refuse to allow any customer deemed unfit for cycling or walking to participate in a trip.

The customer undertakes to comply at all times with the safety rules relating to cycling as laid down in the Highway Code.

The customer is entirely responsible for the condition of the hired bicycle at the end of the trip. They agree to pay for any repairs resulting from damage they may have caused.

The customer may be asked to pay a deposit before taking possession of the bicycle to cover any costs or loss of the bicycle.

Normandie-Rando cannot be held responsible for the poor performance of services provided by a third party, such as accommodation providers, restaurants or transport companies.

Normandie-Rando cannot be held responsible for delays, changes to timetables or routes by rail transport companies that the customer decides to use before, after or during their stay. In such circumstances, any delay incurred shall not give rise to any compensation for any costs incurred by the customer.

Normandie-Rando cannot be held liable in any way for force majeure, exceptional circumstances, or events caused by third parties outside the services provided for in the contract or for the poor performance of the contract for which the customer is responsible.

Normandie-Rando cannot be held responsible for the performance of services purchased on site by the customer and not included in the description, nor for transport to the departure point and from the arrival point of the tour.

INSURANCE

It is strongly recommended that the customer take out travel insurance. All customers are required to be covered by civil liability insurance covering any damage/accidents they may cause to third parties.

COMPLAINTS

Normandie-Rando must be notified of any problems arising during the trip. Normandie-Rando will do its utmost to rectify the problem. Any other complaints must be sent by any means that provides proof of receipt within one month of the date of return to the following address

In the event that an amicable settlement cannot be reached, the dispute will be brought before the High Court of CAEN, which has jurisdiction under common law.
