Should I be a good cyclist?

Our bike tours are customized to be easy and not for hard biker, except on private departure with special request. You have to be able to manage a bike on a road and control your speed.

How should I be dressed for bike tour?

No specific needs. The better is to have comfortable clothes. Keep in mind that on a bike it is always colder than by walk… So bring a jacket if the weather is not too warm.

I’m vegan, vegetarian or have specific recommendation

Please let us know about when you book the tour, but no problem you are welcome ! How will be the road on the bikes tours? We will ride most of the time easy going road or cycling paths.

We are a group of friends, family or other, we want to stay together, is it possible ?

Yes, no problem!  Request a private tour. 

Who organises the itineraries?

All our cycle trips have been created and planned by our team of travel professionals from “Normandie Rando”. In order to be able to offer you a first class, quality trip at an affordable price, we rely upon the network of local partners, with whom we have worked and shared a long-term mutual trust for many years. Our most important concern is to be able to guarantee you a top quality service and by doing so, maximize your enjoyment and personal satisfaction.

Do you only organise cycle holidays?

Since 1999, we have specialised in cycle tourism. However, certain regions in France are bettered adapted to other types of trekking, such as walking. How easy is cycling on this trip?

Cycling is graded for difficulty as follows:

  • Easy
  • For anyone who does not have a mobility difficulty, a specific health problem or is seriously unfit. Comfortable shoes or trainers can be worn.
  • Easy to moderate
  • For reasonably fit people with at least a little cycling experience. May include unsurfaced rural paths.
  • Moderate
  • For people with cycling experience and a good level of fitness. May include some steep paths and open country, and may be at a brisk pace.
  • Moderate to difficult
  • For experienced cyclers with an above average fitness level. May include hills and rough country, and may be at a brisk pace. People in doubt about their fitness should contact us in advance.
  • Difficult
  • For experienced and very fit cyclers with additional technical skills. You must contact us in advance for further details.

Do you organise personalised “à la carte” itineraries?

Of course! No problem! We are very happy to create a personalised trip, unique to you, which would include your particular requests. How do we pay for the holiday?

Our clients can pay for the holiday by a secured e-payment transaction to our bank. The following cards are authorized for such a transaction: VISA, EUROCARD, MASTERCARD, CB, AMERICAN EXPRESS. This is our preferred method of transaction, as it is secure and does not incur charges.

When is our holiday confirmed?

Confirmation of your holiday occurs after your deposit payment. For all further information regarding our reservation procedures, please go to the webpage: How does it works?
What happens if there are any changes made to the holiday or there is a cancellation?
Any changes made to the date after booking confirmation is subject to an additional payment of 30€ – including tax.
In the case of a holiday cancellation, an additional cost, will be incurred by the client. This is variable and will depend on how close the cancellation is to the departure date.

Cancellation

More than 60 days before the departure date: 10% of the holiday price (the deposit).
Between 60 and 28 days before the departure date: 30% of the total holiday price.
Between 27 and 15 days before the departure date: 60% of the total holiday price.
14 days before the departure date or a “no-show”: 100% – the total holiday price.

Who transports our luggage?

Between each stage of your trip, a luggage transfer is carried out by members of the “Normandie Rando” team, by our hotel partners or private taxi staff.
Leave your luggage at the hotel reception desk and it will be waiting for you at the next hotel on your trip!
What do we do if we need you?
We are always available and contactable. Our special contact number is accessible 24h/24h.

What sort of instructions do we receive

We give you a detailed, road guide book of your trip, which includes all the stages and directions relevant to your particular itinerary. All maps have been enlarged to help you.
Additional tourist information is also included with our suggestions of places to visit during your trip. The guide contains all the necessary maps required, so that you are able to take full advantage of the “treasures” you will see on your trip!
In addition, we include a geographic IGN (Institut Géographique National) map at the scale of 1/100 000.
We can also supply your itinerary in electronic format for use with a GPS system.

Can “Normandie Rando” offer travel insurance?

We do not have a contractual agreement with any particular insurance organisation or company. Please contact your own insurance company. We do advise all our clients to contact an insurance organisation.
Regarding civil liability insurance, the minimum recommended cover is third party.
